PRESS RELEASE: New Podcast on Aztec-Spanish Conflict Out Tuesday

Mexica: A History Podcast is available Jan 18, 2022

San José, CA — A new history podcast about the “Conquest of Mexico,” Mexica: A History Podcast, which aims to put the lost voices of the Aztecs front and center, will launch January 18, 2022.

About the Podcast

Relying on Indigenous codices created at the time of the conquest, and contrasting them with the more familiar European sources, Mexica: A History Podcast offers listeners a more complete narrative. “I wanted to tell this story in a new light, putting the Indigenous accounts alongside the traditional European accounts” said writer and producer, Jeremy Lipps. “The Aztecs weren’t voiceless and I hope people can hear their side in this podcast.”

Release Date

Episode 1 focuses on the Aztec ruler Moctezuma (Montezuma), his tribe called the Mexica and the Valley of Mexico as it was in 1519.
